Today the water was looking pretty yellow when I came in, there was a lot of waste on the aquarium floor and the filters were pretty nasty. The fish feeder was used Saturday and Sunday and it was set on four feedings, three rotations per feeding at the lowest notch size. I guess the feeder fed them too much. Everyone still looks strong and healthy, so that is a good sign, and they do look like they grew a lot over the weekend and they've even turned more silver. The parr marks on their sides are fading a little bit now and they may be ready for release in the next week or two they are still receiving 1.2mm and 1.5mm foods. As soon as I got in today, I checked water quality, which was suprisingly normal; nitrite was 0.25ppm and ammonia did go up a little bit, but not that much, just 0.25ppm. While I waited for the pH test to finish changing color, I started cleaning up the bottom of the tank with the syringe and cleaned all the filters and the sides of the tank. I then changed 4 gallons of water and added 10ml of stress zyme. Having unplugged the feeder for the week days, I fed the fish a little bit at 11:00am, and they were also fed twice at 3:30pm, and once at 5:30pm and 8:00pm. All else seems to be fine, fish are becoming pretty active. Over the weekend, they were fed once on Saturday by the librarian.
