Today I took the first water quality test for the aquarium and everything was running perfectly. The tests showed 0 ppm (parts per million) for nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia and the pH was 7.6 which is a little bit high for salmon, but I compared this value to the pH for the salmon project from 2 years earlier and discovered that their pH was also 7.6 from the start and it stayed consistent through their entire project, so our schools water must just have a slightly high pH. Everything seems to be running smoothly. The temperature is about 50 degrees, which is perfect. At this time the eggs had not arrived.
