Temperature (F Degrees): 47.8
PH: 7.6
Nitrate (NO3) ppm (mg/L): 0
Nitrite (NO2) ppm (mg/L): 0.25
Ammonia ppm (mg/L): 0
Number of Fish Removed: 1
Lost one fish today and six or seven are still weak. It's looking like things should begin to level off again were we won't lose any fish again for a while. Hopefully this is what happens. Nitrite is still a little high but has not changed, hopefully it will go back to normal in the next week or so. No water change today as their is no distilled water ready yet, it won't be ready until tomorrow. I will probably wait until Friday to do another big water change. Tomorrow I will do some sort of small water change probably a 1 gallon- 1 gallon switch. Fish were fed today at 7:45am, 10:00am, and 3:30pm. Population today is 128 fish, survival rate is 64%, death rate is 36%, the total loss is 72 fish. Today I realized that it might be handy to note that all of the fish who have died so far are ones that show under development, darker coloration than the rest, and fairly small length and belly size, this tells me that the ones who have died so far have not been healthy ones, they have been ones who haven't been eating, which is the most probable cause of death. The other fish have been eating ferociously, they are very energetic. Most of the time they stay within a few inches of the surface, they don't go much lower than the middle of the aquarium. A few of the fish are very husky, they have a strong build and big bellies. The fish are going to the bathroom now, and have been for about a week or at least it became noticeable by then. This waste plus the multiple dead fish over the last few weeks was the most likely cause for the increased nitrite level. The fish have changed slightly in appearance, their back tail fin has grown and now has some yellowish coloration to it. Every fish has distinct spots and parr patterns, some of them have black marks at the tips of their fins in random places, others do not, they are all unique.
